Professor Li Tiecheng invited by GDTV to comment on the 131st Canton Fair
As the 131st Canton Fair was successfully concluded, media coverage began to focus on the highlights of this online exhibition. In one of GDTV Public Channel’s programs on latest news, Professor Li Tiecheng was invited to the studio to voice his views on this exhibition. Professor Li Tiecheng, who leads the provincial team of the integrated and innovative development of convention and exhibition industry as well as SCBC’s program of Convention and Exhibition Economy and Management, shared his interpretation of this year's Canton Fair and the new requirements in an era of digitization.
In the interview, Prof. Li Tiecheng said that exhibitors measured their gains from the Canton Fair mainly by two metrics: the transaction number and the new information received that could bring about future innovation. Then, he commented on the Canton Fair from two perspectives. For one thing, he said, as the functions of the Canton Fair was multiplying, we should be able to predict or create possible follow-up scenarios for business transaction after the Fair; for another, the application of new technology made this Canton Fair more specialized and digitized, which was a trend that we should gear up for. In addition, we should continue to explore new ways of utilizing the data of Canton Fair to empower China's economic development. He also pointed out that though the data was the core asset of an enterprise, how to achieve data standardization and create more value with data remained problematic for enterprises and required urgent solutions. In this regard, the Canton Fair could play an important role in promoting the standardization of enterprise data, and in so doing can lead the development of digital exhibition in China.
