Wang Hua elected chairman of National Association for Developing First-class Accounting Program for Private Undergraduate Universities
From March 25 to 26, the inaugural meeting and seminar of the National Association for Developing First-class Accounting Program for Private Undergraduate Universities(The Association) was held in Guangzhou. The seminar was aimed to strengthen communication, promote the development of first-class undergraduate programs, summarize the experience of disciplinary construction, and improve the overall level of undergraduate programs. Wang Hua, executive president of SCBC, was invited to attend the seminar and elected chairman of the Association. Wen Youyun, vice dean of the School of Management, was elected executive director of the Association. More than 200 experts and scholars in Accounting from more than 70 private universities all over the country attended the seminar.
At the meeting, Wang Hua delivered a speech as the chairman of the Association. He pointed out that the establishment of the National Association for Developing First-class Accounting Program for Private Undergraduate Universities is of great significance. He hoped that all member institutions should keep in sight the original mission of cultivating moral character, stick to the high quality standard and make concerted efforts to build a distinctive first-class platform for Accounting programs and contribute to the development of accounting education in China.
On the morning of March 26, Wen Youyun, vice dean of School of Management, delivered a speech entitled “Practice in the Development of Accounting Program at SCBC: three characteristics led by socialist thinking and empowered by technology” in which he introduced to the national counterparts the ideas, initiatives, achievements, challenges and directions in SCBC’s effort of building its national first-class Accounting program.
It is reported that the Accounting program of SCBC was selected as one of the “high-level application-oriented programs of Chinese universities” in the 2021 Alumni Association's ranking of top majors in universities. In Alumni Association's 2022 ranking of top majors in Chinese universities, the Accounting program is ranked second in China and is rated as a six-star major in China, ranking among the top application-oriented programs in China.
