Someone said, “No, you are not coming back, you are coming home!” Indeed, I am “home” now at the South China Business College. I taught here in 2006 to 2008 then left to teach for over a year at an American college in Guangzhou, but with a promise to come back.
I was a part-time college instructor for a short while when in my early twenties. My teaching experience was basically non-conventional. Motivating people from all walks of life to give their best and make their lives better was my forte for almost 30 years.
At age 19, I got my BA in Communication Arts major in Public Relations from the Pontifical University of Santo Tomas. Ten days after graduation in 1973, I became a Provincial Development Communication Officer in a multi-media government agency under the Office of the President of the Philippines. I worked there for 12 years and rose to 3rd in rank in the regional office.
I joined my husband in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (1985-86) for two years. Then I spent a couple of years as Editor of the monthly national newsletter of the Baptist Conference of the Philippines. In the following 16 years, I worked with Tupperware of which the last 3 years was a gainful experience in independent distributorship.
Teaching abroad is a “re-tiring” job. So, I need some equipping. I’m currently taking MA in Language and Literacy Education (MA-LLE) with a focus on teaching English as a Second Language (TESL) at the University of the Philippines Open University. I’ll be conferred this postgraduate degree very soon.
Blending teaching with travelling is fantastic. We learn to appreciate other cultures. Like our summer holiday in America in 2009, it proved valuable in teaching the best of east and west cultures. - Cleofe “Faith” Veloso, Philippines.

一边旅游，一边教学，这感觉实在是太棒了。这让我们学会欣赏其他国家的文化。就像2009年暑假，我们游览了美国，这段经历让我们见识了西方和东方不同的教学特色。
